You know the saying, April showers bring May flowers? Although May has started out fairly rainy as well, it’s almost time to start planting. I’ve got a list of 10 plants that will look great and are easy to take care of. If your like me the easier to care for the better.

1. Blanket Flowers
Full Sun, Bloom summer into fall, Drought-tolerant , Attract butterflies not deer

2. Day-lily
Nearly impossible to kill, sun-loving /can take part shade, Drought-tolerant

3. Poppy
Little care is needed, Sunny Location, Water during dry spells until established

4. Hosta
Can handle tough dry shade (my favorite)

5. Peony
Full Sun, Well–drained soil

6. Yarrow
Sun Loving, Stands up to summer heat and drought, Ignored by rabbits and deer

7. Switchgrass
Sunlight, Summer-fall, Ignored by rabbits, deer and grasshoppers

8. Hardy geranium
Full sun to part shade, Dependable

9. Catmint
Drought-tolerant, Sun loving, Ignored by deer

10. Aromatic aster
Grows in dry, clay or rocky soil
